Hot Chocolate Stands Keep Kids Warm This Winter
Can you imagine what it must feel like to be cold while playing inside? Or to do your homework at the kitchen table, while wearing your winter coat?
This is your chance to help warm the hearts and homes of people in our area who cannot afford to heat their homes this winter. Dollar-Help, Inc. is a charity that helps pay heating bills for families in need. Now you can help by setting up a hot chocolate stand in your driveway, in your neighborhood, at your school, or at a community location. With an adult's help, you can make and sell hot chocolate by the cup and donate the money you raise to Dollar-Help!
Share the Warmth on Warmthgiving Weekends in December!
Plan on setting up your own hot chocolate stand anytime in December. We are calling this special time, “Warmthgiving Weekend” and we are asking as many young people as possible to get involved and raise money to help less fortunate families in our area.
The individual who raises the most money for Dollar-Help during the Warmthgiving campaign will win an X-Box, courtesy of Dierbergs!
Raise A Dollar for Dollar-Help for Every Cup of Hot Chocolate You Sell
We recommend that you get your parent's permission to set up the stand to raise money for Dollar-Help. Then, ask for a minimum donation of $1 per cup of hot chocolate. You can tell your customers it's “A Dollar for Dollar-Help,” and that the money you collect will be donated to Dollar-Help to keep more people warm this winter!
Setting Up Your Hot Chocolate Stand
Use the signs and posters on this website to help you get set up, and to attract customers. Check out our tips for a successful hot chocolate stand.
Share the Warmth - and Share Your Stories
We want to hear where you are planning to set up your stand and afterward, your success stories. Take photographs of your stand and send them to us to post on the Dollar-Help site. In fact, we would like to invite area newspapers and TV crews to come and see some of the Warmthgiving Weekend hot chocolate stands for themselves (with your parent or guardian's permission of course!). Let us know your plans if you would be willing to have a news crew talk to you about your stand. Or, share your success stories - by clicking here.
Remember, we need to hear from you if you want a chance to win the X-Box!
